Minivans.
The classic bit of Americana that still totes its riders
to-and-from ball fields, recitals and the like, has seen numbers slowing on the
roads in the United States over the past decade.
However, the Sedona may have something to say about it.
Returning for the second year after a two-year hiatus, the 2015 Kia Sedona will surely turn heads with its new, sleek design.
Revealed this past week at the New York International Car Show, the Sedona features all-new exterior styling more in line with the rest of the company's offerings, including its signature "Tiger Nose" face. Its muscular-for-a-minivan body encapsulates a larger cabin.
Although estimates have yet to be released, the Sedona will more than likely be better on the wallet, with a 3.3-liter V6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission toning back from last year's larger 3.5-liter V6 engine that managed 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 on the highway.
The Sedona brings a couple of fun features to the 2015.
One unique feature is a power tailgate that opens automatically when it senses the keyfob nearby for three seconds, allowing for hands-free access to the cargo area.
The Sedona's second row gets a new Slide-n-Stow function that gives passengers easier access to the rear seat, while a new "First Class" function for the second row seats allows the seats to be positioned facing rearward with retractable lower leg rests.
So, whether you're toting your little ones to baseball practice or driving to work during the daily commute, don't forget about the 2015 Kia Sedona.
Minivans are still here and they are definitely going
strong.
