The Kia Sorento is number three in line behind the Soul and the Optima in terms of best selling Kia models in the United States. But, there are some changes being made to this popular crossover SUV that are pretty exciting for the automaker and the consumer alike. The new design has been described as 'roomier and more mature.'

Images of the new 2016 Sorento were released prior to its formal unveiling in August 2014 in South Korea. Based on the specs and the photos, it showed a wider hood, a more aggressive front end which includes a bolder grille, smooth lines which give it a more muscular stance and perhaps the biggest change;  the new size. The new Sorento is three inches longer which provides a little more breathing room for passengers in all three rows.

The new 2016 Sorento will be available in the U.S. market in the first quarter of 2015 and will be on the show floor at the Paris Auto Show in October.

The new changes to the Kia Sorento will make it a formidable competitor against other crossovers in its class; Toyota Rav 4, Ford Edge, Chevrolet Equinox, etc. It will be exciting to see how it stacks up. Kia hasn't released pricing or details of the new technology going into this vehicle, but is expected to do so soon.
