Kias and soccer.
For those who love both, the 2014 World Cup and NUVOtv may have found a match made in heaven.
NUVOtv, the leading English-language destination for Latino entertainment, announced earlier this month the co-production of Kia’s Road to Rio, an action-packed travel series showcasing the beautiful sights of South America.
Comedians Mark Watson and Henning Wehn will take viewers on a hilarious adventure to Rio for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, as they trek along the South American country in various Kia vehicles including the 2014 Kia Soul, Sorento and Sportage. NUVOtv has exclusive rights for U.S. viewers. The show will premiere on NUVOtv on Wednesday, May 21 at 8pm CT.
”Soccer is a really big sport for our viewers and we think this series will be fun and get people excited about the FIFA World Cup in Brazil,” said Bill Hilary, EVP Programming for NUVOtu, in a release. “The multicultural dynamic of the travel series resonates with our young, NUVOtv audience.”
Kia’s Road To Rio, is a twelve-episode travel series produced by ITN Productions in partnership with advertiser-funded program specialists A Brand Apart Television, Kia Motors and NUVOtv. The original series entered production in January and will air in more than 50 countries.
“As an official partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Kia knows the cultural importance of soccer not only in South America, but here in the United States as well,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice-president of sales and marketing, Kia Motors America. “There are millions of Hispanic-Americans who have cultural ties to South America and this is a great opportunity for Kia to connect to their culture and be part of the biggest sporting event in the world.”
Kia’s Road to Rio is set to follow the comedy duo on their exploration of the six South American countries, cultures and people that the world will come to know when the soccer event of the year kicks off. The finale will be set in Rio.
“Along the way, the team will laugh with soccer-obsessed locals, face roadside dramas, sample the local cuisine and live like they are natives,” a press release said. “They will also meet famous soccer players as they begin to learn what the sport really means to so many different individuals and why the South Americans excel at this sport.”
Even if soccer isn’t your thing, you can still get a kick out of Kia’s great line of vehicles. Come check them out at Barnett Kia in White Bear Lake.
