Record sales make it Kia’s best-ever September
Once again, when it comes to Kia sales there’s a lot to talk about. This week Kia released figures showing that September was another winner.
Kia recorded its best-ever September USA sales with figures increasing 22% over the same month a year ago, finishing with 49,820 units sold. All this made for five straight months of sales records and included a record third-quarter performance.
Sales were led by the Soul crossover and the Optima midsize sedan. Sales of the Soul rose 26% to 13,614 units, while Optima recorded the sale of 11,719 units. Also performing well was the brand-new 2016 Sorento CUV, with monthly sales totaling 9,380 units, up 42% over the same period last year. Demand also was strong for other models, including the Sedona, Forte, and Sportage. Kia sold 3,039 units of the Sedona, recently named winner of Cars.com’s “Ultimate Minivan Challenge.” That represented a 395% increase on the year and a 19.4% increase over August.
